Western Australia Australia Tourist Guide From Discount Hotels

If you want a vacation destination where you can escape the crowds, then Western Australia is one destination that awaits you. This is the largest of the Australian states and the diversity that exists from one part of the state to another is really surprising. There is a wide variety of wildlife and marine life that will fascinate you to no end.

Perth is the capital of Western Australia and has often been called the
most isolated city on the planet". However, this city is very modern with pristine beaches, as well as woodland areas. Sightseeing in Perth is a history lover's dream with its colonial buildings, such as the Town Hall and Perth Mint. From Kings Park you have a wonderful view of the city and the Swan River winding its way towards Freemantle.

Freemantle is only 12 miles from Perth and it, too, is filled with buildings dating back to the colonial era. Visit the Western Memorial Maritime Museum and see the many exhibits, including the Shipwreck Galleries and a real submarine at Queen's Quay. The Wave Rock in Hyden is one of the most famous natural landmarks in the country. Here you can walk the rock walls and through the bush land that surrounds them. The Wildlife Park has birds and animals roaming freely and you can also visit the Cave of Mulka, an Aboriginal outlaw.

Whalewatching is a popular activity along the coast, especially in Albany. Three is a natural bridge in this town, as well, that forms an arch carved by erosion from the ocean waves. In Guildford, you will gaze in awe at the old buildings and find untold treasures in the quaint antique stores. This town is the gateway to the wine region of the Swan Valley, where you can taste some of the best wines in the country.

Western Australia is not just for sightseeing. There are wonderful accommodation to suit any budget as well as restaurants that will serve up delicious meals. Attend the Perth International Arts Festival or enjoy diving in such locations as Rottnest Island. At Dunsborough you can engage in wreck diving to the shipwreck of the HMS Swan. Surfing, walking, hiking and exploring Aboriginal art and culture are some of the other activities that will take up your time. There is so much to see and do that you will undoubtedly start to make plans to return before you even leave.
