Brunei Darussalam is a sultanate located in the northwestern corner of Borneo. Brunei is very small with a population of less than 400,000. It does have four districts - Brunei Muara, Tutong, Belait and Temburong. The capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan is located in the Brunei Muara district. Have a look at the royal regalia of the sultan at the Royal Regalia Museum and the elaborate display of weaponry and other exhibits at the Brunei Museum. There are also reminders of the colonial era in modern Brunei, such as the House of Twelve Roofs, which was once the home of a British diplomat and now is a museum.
Brunei is also synonymous with rainforest. Nature lovers will delight in the preserved nature areas and the many different forms of wildlife unique to the island of Borneo. There are few tourists in this country so there won't be any crowds or waiting lines for the guided tours. Some of the other activities that you can enjoy in this country include mountain biking, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, scuba diving and hiking on well-maintained trails.
