Cameroon Tourist Guide From Discount Hotels

Cameroon is a country located on the Gulf of Guinea on the west coast of Africa. Here you will find diversity in both the landscape, the people and the culture. Cameroon has rainforests, mountains, beaches and deserts so you will feel as if you are traveling through several countries, rather than just one. The people are friendly and are very welcoming to visitors. Each region of the country offers something different and has often been called "Africa in one country". For example, in the north you can visit the largest national park in the country at the Waza National Park, where you will see herds of elephants, giraffes, lions and antelopes as well as many beautiful birds.

The highest mountain in West Africa, Mt. Cameroon, is located in this country. This is also Africa's highest active volcano. Tourism in this region deals mainly with mountaineering and trekking through the mountains, where the hillsides are dotted with tiny villages. This area is also home to the Dja Faunal Reserve, which is one of the best protected rainforests on the continent. If this is your passion in a vacation, then you have certainly come to the right place.

When you fly into Cameroon, you will land in either Yaounde or Daoula, the two largest cities in the country. Each of these has comfortable accommodation and a wealth of restaurants. There are also many tourist attractions in both cities, such as the Lagos market in Daoula - the largest one in the country. You can take side trips to the surrounding areas, such as the palm wine city of Batibo in the northwest province. This is a collection of small villages where there are more than 7000 liters of palm wine sold every day.

You will make memories that will last forever when you visit this country. In fact you may want to return again to see the parts that you missed in your first visit.
