Namibia Hotels & Tourist Guides

Namibia Tourist Guide From Discount Hotels

Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Namibia when you choose to vacation in this desert country in Africa. There are many contrasting landscapes from the sand dunes of the desert to the bush savanna and rugged mountain peaks. The German influences from when this country was a colony of Germany can be seen and felt in the capital city of Windhoek. Here you can also visit many museums to learn the history of the country, visit the Tintenpalast parliament building and the landmark church in the city - Christuskirche.

You will be awe-inspired at the sight of the Namib Desert, which is the oldest desert in the world. The Namib Naukluft Park is also impressive with its collection of wildlife native to Namibia. One of the best places to see wildlife is the Eto9sha National Park. Fish River Canyon is also a must-see on your trip to this country. This is the second largest canyon in the world. See the giant aloe trees in the Kokerboom Forest or take a nature tour of the Skelton Coats Region where you will see many plants growing in the desert sands.

There are ancient rock carvings and engravings in Damaraland and nearby you can visit the petrified forest of about 50 fossilized trees thought to be more than 250 million years old. In the Kaokoland region of Namibia you can get a look at tribal life with a visit to traditional villages. Waterberg Plateau Park is the only mountain game park in the country that also has spectacular scenery along with many species if rare and endangered animals. You can walk through this park along one of  the many wqell-mapped and signposted trails.

Enjoy dune-buggy racing in the seaside town of Swakopmund, or track the elusive black rhino in the wilderness of Damaraland. These are but a few of the exciting activities you can engage in when you visit Namibia. Shop for traditional crafts and enjoy the comfort of a wide variety of accommodation, such as hotels, lodges, campgrounds and rustic farmhouses.
