Choose the little known island of Reunion located off the coast of Madagascar when you want to have an exciting vacation that will take you off the beaten track. Here you will find a mixture of French, African, Indian and Chinese influences in the culture and the buildings of the villages and towns. In La Montagne, you can trek around the Plaines d'Affouches and in Brule, you can take a footpath to a summit from which you have a panoramic view of the northern section of the island. There are many cirques on this island - volcanic valleys of which the most spectacular is Salazie with its monumental waterfalls. If you like walking, you will have a fantastic vacation in Reunion with the numerous opportunities available in all locations. Visit the street market in Saint Paul or take an excursion to one of the many still active volcanoes.
