Deganwy Hotels & Tourist Guides

Your guide to Deganwy, Wales from Cheap Hotels Ltd.

The small town of Deganwy is located within the county borough of Conwy in North Wales. You will find it quite easily when you take the A547m which branches off the A55. The railway station in the town has train services to Manchester, which are available upon request. The ruins of Deganwy Castle is a notable landmark in the town and from its location about 100 metres above the town you can see the surrounding countryside.

Deganwy is less than a mile from the town of Conwy, which makes it an ideal location to choose as your base of operations. Take in the sights of the Plas Mawr Elizabethan House, which is a fine example of a home in which the gentry lived in the 16th century. The steeped gables and the lookout tower will give you a panoramic view of the town of Conwy. The furnishings of the house are the original ones that were in the house at the time when it was inhabited. Aberconwy House is a prime example of a medieval merchant’s home and is one of the finest preserved medieval building in Wales.

Enjoy the experience of visiting Conwy Castle set against the dramatic backdrop of the Snowden Mountains. This castle dates back to the 13th century and offers spectacular views of the river and the countryside. Rodnant Garden is the finest of its kind in the world. It consists of two sections – an upper and a lower section. The upper section includes the Terrace Gardens and the lower section, called the Dell, contains a wild garden and a pinetum. Colorful scenes await you in the numerous flowers and shrubs that bloom at various times during the year.

Choose a self-catering unit, a delightful bed and breakfast or a hotel for your accommodation needs. Restaurants, pubs and cafes abound where you can dine on your favourites or sample the Welsh cuisine. You will find that the people of this small town are very friendly and welcoming to visitors, so it is very likely you will make many new friends.
