Located on the south coast of Wales the town of Porthcawl lies just twenty five miles from the capital city of Cardiff. The town enjoys some wonderful views over the Bristol Channel, and in the north-western part of the town you will find the sand dunes known as Kenfig Burrows. The town has a population of around sixteen thousand residents, and has its own distinct charm and character, as well as plenty of places of interest to explore.

Over the years Porthcawl has become a popular holiday resort, and it is here that you will find Trecco Bay, which is one of the largest caravan and camping parks in the whole of Europe. You will find several pleasant beaches to enjoy in Porthcawl, and there is also an impressive promenade here to enjoy. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the delights of the Coney Beach funfair in the town, and you can see the lighthouse that is located at Porthcawl Point.

There are a number of golf courses to enjoy in this town, as well as a range of other attractions in and around the town, so you can enjoy a full itinerary when you visit the area. Some of the other attractions that you can visit when you come to Porthcawl include the Old Police Station and Museum, Margam Country Park, the Margam Stones Museum, the Afan Forest Park Visitor Centre, and the Neath Museum.
